The Great Honda Battle of 2006
One Man’s Epic Battle with Honda, Geico, and Raccoons.
One week after replacing the only “car” I’ve ever driven (rusting 1992 Geo Prizm sans Muffler sporting some sweet hail damage) with the purchase of my first brand new car, a 2006 Honda Civic, I hit a giant mutant racoon that took my new baby out of commission. Through various battles with my new insurance company, Geico, and through the inability of the Honda dealer to correctly diagnose and repair the problem, the car was not performing reliably for almost three months. The above is a chart of the cars uptime percentage as a function of the number of weeks owned after the July 15, 2006 purchase date. Uptime is defined as a day that the car operates without a known problem. See the full Calendar. The uptime chart will update automatically every week.
