May is No TV Month Update

So, I didn’t make it.  Despite 27 continuous days of not watching over-the-air or cable television, I watched the Champions League final on a TIVO at my brother’s house between AC Milan and Liverpool.  And Liverpool didn’t even win, how disappointing.  I’m sticking to the moral victory that I haven’t watched television at my house, especially because there were two incidents at bars in which intoxication played a role in about 10 or 20 seconds of continuous television watching.  Oh the shame.

Interestingly enough, one byproduct of this almost-month has been that I will now consciously monitor the amount of television that I do watch.  I will no longer watch any show that has a daily episode (Daily Show or the Colbert Report) and will attempt to not watch any series shows, although I may just limit myself to one weekly show, we’ll see.  But really, the desire to watch television has faded quite a bit.  My next goal is to limit the amount of movie watching I do, although I think I’ll wait a month before I do anything else drastic.
