Unfortunately with Microsoft not shipping any new emoji to Windows 10, and still refusing to support country flags even on Windows 11, and with Chromium not shipping its own emoji font like Firefox does, I predict the emoji fragmentation problem will only get worse in the future.
No wonder so many websites have given up and are just embedding emoji as images. 🙄
