@zachleat I share the feelings in this post. I work with React a lot, and I'm somewhat experienced with Javascript - yet I would never identify as a "JS Developer". Not because of the language, but because of the general sentiment of "DX over user needs" I associate with the term.
I think the divide is real, but it doesn't have to be that black or white. JS is awesome, and there are ways to use it without bloat and over-engineering. We just had a decade of skewed perceptions. 🙃
