I have zero doubt that the ideal Rust program is faster than the ideal Node program. But I also think the community has been comparing hyper-optimized Rust/Go/Zig tools written by experienced perf-focused engineers versus legacy Node tools trying to support a variety of use cases and with very little attention paid to performance.
