@zachleat @sentience I'd go with a different C: “It’s more important that you have a solid foundation as a web developer than knowing about any specific framework, but we unfortunately use a lot of React. If you don’t already know it, you’ll have to learn it to maintain and optimize while helping us avoid it as we move forward.”
