I've built it as a #11ty plugin. Needs some tidy up before publishing but I have it working well on my website.
I've decided it's best to only run in my local as it's rather expensive time-wise and only needs to happen any time the number of unique glyphs changes.
I commit the subset fonts to my repository and have the plugin cache glyphs in use so it only re-builds the subset fonts if my glyph usage changes.
Quite proud of this one.
