Honestly, it's *really* hard to create a slow website when you actually use HTML and CSS.
Trying to create a demo site right now to illustrate how some DevTools performance tools can help speed it up, but unless I throw in a big framework in there, it's hard to make room for improvements.
Use HTML and CSS folks!
